World Travel will continue to look for opportunities for similar savings and all travelers booking direct-billed airline tickets on United or American will be eligible to receive one of these certificates.
Although there are restrictions which apply, World Travel will attempt to use these certificates for more expensive flights, in turn saving the university the most money.
New Technology Enhancements
World Travel has also implemented two technology enhancements for university employees using their service.
First, e-mail confirmations received from World Travel now contain a link to Infotriever, a software service that automatically posts your travel itinerary directly into Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes calendars.
Infotriever will monitor travel plans and automatically update calendars with any changes. Users who sync their calendars with their mobile devices will also be able to view this information.
World Travel also has a free mobile app called Concur Mobile that provides travelers with immediate access to their itineraries including up-to-the-second flight status details. The app also provides quick links for online check-in and directions (powered by Bing Maps).
Travelers can also book rental cars and hotels from our preferred suppliers from this app. The app is available for download for all UT employees registered with Concur, World Travel’s free service.
To register or to download the app go, to http://www.worldtrav.com/business-travel/ut-travel-page.htm or call World Travel at 865-777-1680.
